The College of Petrochemical Engineering at Al-Furat University organized a scientific symposium entitled: “Drilling Techniques and Well Design,” under the patronage of the University President, Dr. Mounir Al-Aroud.
The symposium was presented by geological engineer Amjad Allawi, CEO of DD STAR, and touched on the latest drilling concepts and techniques, including traditional, directional, horizontal and multilateral drilling, in addition to reviewing oil well design methodologies, planning requirements, equipment, materials and modern techniques.
The symposium was attended by the Vice President of the University for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Ali Amrir, the Director of the Raqqa Branch, Dr. Ahmed Al-Afdal, and a number of those concerned with the oil sector, and members of the teaching and administrative staff at Al-Furat University.
